Stoplock is the leading vehicle security brand in the UK with over 30 years of experience. Stoplock is one of the most recognisable brands owned by Saxon, I can remember my grandad having a Stoplock Original in the back of his old Corsa when I was a child, little did I know I’d be designing the packaging for them in years to come. Although Stoplock is a legacy product it’s purpose and use in todays climate is still massively relevant, as car theft has been on the rise since 2013. The task that has been set to me is to make the packaging for the Stoplock range attractive, modern, understandable for the consumer and relevant on the shelves.

Over the years cars have changed into all sorts of different shapes and sizes so the Stoplock has had to adapt and develop for strengthened security and fitment in all the different types of vehicles. Below is some of the range of Stoplocks: Original, Airbag, Pro & Pro Elite. I have recently redesigned the packaging for this range so that it can be quicker to make up within production, the update also included recycling label change, new product images and new instruction manuals.

Stoplock also features other methods of security for your car such as wheel clamps, van locks, number plate locks, valve locks and faraday pouches. All the packaging was designed by me following brand guidelines, to execute a consistent design style across the range.

New data is released yearly regarding car crimes, the top 15 vehicles to be stolen are released, along with a-lot of information regarding car crime locations and the methods of theft. In response to this working collaboratively with Saxon’s data analyst we created a mock newspaper that features all the latest data for 2021 regarding car crime, highlighting how some of Stoplock’s product range could seriously reduce the likelihood of car theft. This newspaper was specifically intended as an email campaign, promotional tool for the Area Sales Managers to drive sales and was also included as a printed insert within Saxon’s bi-monthly mailer.
