Display Advertising/Retargeting

Carbase has become a leader for digital innovation within the car supermarket space, winning multiple awards over the past few years, part of its success was from my help designing many projects related to digital advertising. Overall the artwork I produced had goals to push the marketing campaigns out and in turn drive traffic back to their website, to increase conversion rate. Some examples of these campaigns are seen below, they vary between advertising car manufacturer brands, dynamic stock availability, finance deals, staff vacancies, customer reviews and part-exchange valuations.

Photo Extras

I was briefed with this project to design supporting photo extras that were to be used with the online advertising of cars/vans, they would typically be uploaded with the main product images on sites such as AutoTrader, Motors, eBay and Gumtree. These designs help give the customer some context around the dealership, general information, reviews, part exchange information, deposit & test drive information, smartphone apps and awards the dealership have achieved. Overall this allows the business to be transparent about everything they have to offer, ultimately helping the customer make an informed decision on their car buying journey.

Character Designs

The characters seen below were designed to help illustrate certain products the dealership has to offer, it also showed the various sectors of the business.

Little Miss and Mr Man were typically used with products such as finance, owners club and general information, Dr Data and his companion Molly the dog were used to help illustrate part-exchange information and valuations, Mr Mechanic was used with anything related to the Auto-centres, servicing and MOTs. Using these characters helped differentiate sectors of the business and were used as aid to explain topics in a more engaging and interesting way.

Showroom Banners, Billboards & Signage

Shown below is a variety of banners, billboards and building signage that I designed to promote various messages, these were to update previous designs that had come to the end of their campaign life. The goal was to display customer information such as products offered, finance deals, RAC information, smartphone apps, owners club scheme and customer reviews. The banners seen within the images below were put up at the 3 retail sites, each location placement was thought out to have maximum visibility for any customer that walks on site. The billboards seen below were installed at the 2 biggest retail sites Carbase own, the billboards were made and installed by Naked Signs, it was a collaborative effort working with them to ensure sizes and artwork were perfect for production and installation. Both billboards were positioned on site so we could go double sided. This enabled us to maximise exposure, both billboards are on busy main roads within Bristol.

Social Media

Part of my role was to push out fun and interesting content to social media, below is some examples of the Carbase logo styled in different holiday days, this pushed out brand awareness to various audiences and increased engagement across all the platforms they were posted to.

Website Blog Posts

Blog posts were often used to help explain various updates on different sectors of the business such as : Buying Guides, Car Reviews, Car Maintenance, Car News, Finance, Carbase News. They also had additional benefit in supporting the website with good search engine optimization. I was tasked monthly in creating supporting illustrations and designs for each blog, please see some artwork examples below.

Promotional Materials

Below are some examples of designed materials used to promote and advertise positions available within the business, pull up banners, business cards, branded pens/keyrings and flyers. These are used to showcase the employee benefits, and increase student interest in apprenticeships.

This work was created while in employment at Carbase.
